Scandal is a meticulously crafted three-spread couture fashion publication. This project combined art direction, photography, and layout design. I was tasked with curating outfits, selecting models, orchestrating hair and makeup, constructing sets, and designing spreads. As the objective was to create a magazine inspired by any narrative of choice, I chose the musical, "Chicago" – a scandalous comedy following themes of celebrity, scandal, and corruption in Chicago during the Jazz Age. Specifically honing in on the character of Roxie Hart, a housewife with aspirations of stardom whose turbulent journey from murder to infamy unfolds, I aimed to capture her essence in every aspect of the magazine. It was crucial for the model to emulate Roxie's physical appearance and embody her narcissistic, showgirl persona – a character willing to go to any lengths for fame.

Modern couture fashion was infused with a 1920s twist, incorporating elements of sparkle and fringe to capture Roxie's showgirl allure. The magazine's setting aimed to evoke a theatrical ambiance, utilizing theater curtains, shimmer, and colored lighting to accentuate Roxie's narrative arc. Throughout the process, attention to detail was paramount, from the design of the titles resembling newspaper headlines to handwritten excerpts from Roxie's journal.
